Every lab space at CENPA now has a portable eyewash, pictured at right. The eyewash bottle has a sterile seal, so it cannot be opened in advance. Before doing chemical work in a lab with a portable eyewash, please read the instructions so that you know what to do in the event of an emergency.
There are also several fixed, plumbed eyewashes at CENPA, in the following locations:
- Room 162 (Hot Lab)
- Room 165 (Lead Lab, aka Plating Lab)
- Room 166 (Chemistry Lab, aka Cold Lab or Target Lab)
- High Bay / Setup Area (on the wall, near the telephone)
- Student Shop (next to sink)
- Main CENPA Instrument Shop (near office)
If you are working in any of those locations, please familiarize yourself with the location of the nearest eyewash and its directions for use. We have several different models of eyewash station. The three main types are pictured below.
